What happen?!

What happen to us?

Students sell bodies for handphone prepaid cards
"She would ask her men friends to buy her a RM10 prepaid card for her phone before going out with them and then, later, taken to a “port” to have sex."

MCA: Maybank move discriminatory
"...its requirement to law firms that it must have at least three bumiputra partners, one of whom must have a 50% stake, before these firms can do any business with the bank."

Red Devils' trip to Malaysia is off
" Manchester United officials are confident that the club’s planned summer tour of Asia will go ahead despite being told they would not be welcome in Malaysia in July because of fears their visit could distract attention from the finals of the Asian Cup."

Terengganu to ease polygamy rules
"Those who now intend to take a new wife are no longer required to seek the green light from their current spouses.

State Islam Hadhari and Welfare committee chairman Abdullah Che Muda told The Starthat this would give opportunities for single ladies in the state to have their own families."

Groups slam MPs for making sexist ‘joke’ against women
"On Wednesday, Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang had raised the matter of leaks at the entrance to the media centre in Parliament when backbenchers Datuk Mohd Said Yusof (BN-Jasin) and Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) said: “Where is the leak? The member for Batu Gajah also leaks once a month.”

They were let off the hook, however, on Thursday as Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib rejected Fong’s motion to refer them to the Rights and Privileges Committee, on the grounds that she should have filed it when the remarks were made.

Following the controversy, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz had said the words were not offensive and that it was a normal play on words."

Said refuses to apologize
" Mohd Said was quoted as saying that he did not need to apologise because his bocor tiap-tiap bulan juga (leaks every month, too) statement did not mean a woman’s period.

...

“Who says that it means the menstruation cycle? Bocor can be translated into different things.

“Besides the leaks in the Parliament building, it can also mean to urinate.

“Apologise to Fong Poh Kuan? What is there to apologise for? I did not mean to offend her or other women,” he said when contacted by the daily on Saturday.

He said he was referring to the ceiling leaks in the Parliament building."

Please observe the reason given by FAM on the football tour, in Terengganu a man no longer needs to seek permission from first wife for polygamy, the synonym word games played by MP (this does not mean that or that...) to avoid consequences of unthoughtful words uttered etc.

It's sad, to see Malaysia gradually, or even drastically, degrading backward day by day. I doubt will Vision 2020 be a realizable vision, or stays as it is, just a vision. I certainly hope that would not happen.

Update (18th May, 2:02pm) : MPs make public apology to all women

On a side-note, just realize this --- "Besides the leaks in the Parliament building, it can also mean to urinate." --- Just wondering, how may a person only urinate ONCE a month? Weird.
